La Gringa Bar and Grill

We went on a week night. There was no bartender to get drinks while we waited for our table. It was very hot inside and no AC. The food was good, but the service was not. They probably could use more waiters/waitresses. Seemed the hostess was doing much of the work. We may go back to try it again.

Margarita are great and so is the service. Elena is Tony the Tiger Great!

Very good contemporary So-Cal-ish Mexican food served in a dramatic, theatrical setting. The decor is whimsical and very unique! The music was decent pop Latin. The service was good and the flavors all worked. Nothing too adventurous, but a solid menu.

I love this place. I have been coming here for quite a while now and I consider it a hidden gem in our neighborhood. Great servers, great food and decent price. You will definitely enjoy yourself here. It is also a family friendly and atmosphere if you have kids or a large family.

Always use to order takeout and delivery from here. Finally came to dine in. Intimate atmosphere. Great service. Food was very good. Well seasoned. Good portions for the price.

Painted door sign says Saturday hours are noon to 11pm. Another sign says summer Saturday hours are 2pm to 11pm. I get there a little after 2pm and employee came out and was going to let us in, but came back out saying they're not really open until 4pm!If they don't know what hours they operate, how can they even know how to prepare & serve food?

Moved a few blocks down when la gringa was first opening, when they finally received their liquor license this was my favorite spot to be. For delivery or sitting at the bar for a quick take out w a margarita to uber eats. I was probably their most annoying customer 😭😭 I'm so sad to see them close down and wish there was something i can do to bring them back!!! I loved that they added Plantains to their dishes and never seen another chef/restaurant do that before. Please open up anywhere in NYC !!! So I can have my favorite meals again!

So, we decided to try La Gringa, and we were not disappointed. Service was nice, friendly, and happy. Maragitas were good. Apps, we got loaded nachos with pulled pork and calamari with Chipotle sauce were good.5 guests and all were very happy with their dinners. Will be back. Prices good as well. Portions are more than enough to split. So you can get more drinks and dessert.

I celebrated my 40th birthday last night at La Gringa. I can’t say enough thanks to the crew for making this day so special. Food was very delicious, drinks were great and service was amazing. Everyone is so friendly and making sure all was good. I highly recommend this place. It’s great for bigger parties as well as for cozy family dinner. If I could, I would give them 10 stars. THANK YOU 🤩

I loved the food at this local place. One late night after work I wanted a drink and nachos and this was the place to be. The nachos with steak was my first choice to start with a nice margarita yum yum to both. My chips were nice and crispy a great size to hold my cheese, crema, jalapeño and steak with plantains which was a first on a nacho bite (heaven) followed by a perfectly made margarita with Don Julio. My entree choice was La Tampiqueña, it was a strip of hangar steak cooked in a mushroom sauce with two cheese enchiladas with green tomatillo sauce. The roasted meat and the mushroom sauce was full of great flavors which I totally needed after a hard day at work without a lunch break. I was so satisfied with choosing La gringa for dinner that night that I can’t wait to go back with a group of my co- workers for tequila time !!!! The place has a nice vibe with a great wait staff that was friendly and attentive.

Nice place, solid 4 stars. Cozy, stylish interior, friendly staff, really good food.We liked Mexican burger and Steak chimichanga, and Relleno Poblano was terrific (it is quite hot), as well as Kids Quesadilla. Pulled Pork Mole was a bit questionable though, I think the mole had a burnt taste mostly and the meat was too dry.They have a decent selection of beers, nothing fancy. However their bar has a variety of mezcals, and some tequilas as well, alongside other liquors.I had Kill Me Softly cocktail and didn't really like it - mezcal felt still too smoky and gave weird artificial taste.

Went for a Birthday dinner for my husband. Waited too long to be seated. Additional long wait for order to be taken. Very haphazard environment. Drinks came after entre. One entre arrived over10 minutes after everyone else's. Drinks were weak and servers went MIA along with our guacamole appetizer. No attention to our table at all. Would not give this place a second chance when there are numerous other eateries in the neighborhood. Very disappointed.

The food was great. Both servers were attentive but the tall lean one was the best. Sorry I didnt get her name. There was a minor issue and she corrected it and apologized for the mistake even though she wasnt our waitress. That type of service is uncommon nowadays...sadly. Those of us who dine out often and look for that type of service know what I'm talking about.

Good ambient with friendly staff. I had a small or big issue with my dish. (Pulled pork meat) . Which happened to be too salty. We address this to the manager and they offer a new dish by choice. That was nice gesture. One star less is for the prices. Expensive in my opinion.

I think the shrimp tacos were the best but my girlfriend loves the steak ,we ate out a bottle of hot sauce 😂

The food was amazing, I order some calamari first and omg it was so good like literally the best calamari I have ever tried. The service was fast, and the restaurant was really nice. Will be going back soon.

So this is the first time ive ever had mexican food and didnt die of excessive salt intake immediately after. The food portion size was decent and seasoned well. I ordered the la gringa original taco dinner which includes two tacos with either chicken steak or beef and lettuce,tomato, pico de gallo , sour cream. All the taco dinners include rice and beans on the side for 10.95. As a starter you get chips and salsa. If you go i suggest you order the sidral authentic mexican apple flavored soda. This is also a great pregame spot for college students since there is a fully housed bar here. Overall its a cozy little authentic mexican spot. Great for all ages. Street parking available. Bathrooms are clean. Staff is knowledgable about the menu and friendly.

A small Mexican "cantina" with a limited menu. The portions are a good size and the prices are reasonable. There is a bar with an expansive drink menu. Server was polite and professional and we never felt rushed.

I want to give this place 5 stars because the food is really good. But the management is horrible. They clearly don't know how to run a restaurant. We have never gotten our food in less than an hour after ordering. We have small children who are good at restaurants but making them sit for an hour at their dinner time without anything to eat and no apologies is unacceptable. I would only recommend this place if you don't have kids and don't have anything else to do but while away a few hours.

This place had potential. It's right on the strip here with numerous other successful restaurants. It could have provided what the others do not. Their salsa is great. However, things really started going downhill with the food. I should have known something was up when I went in and they had no salsa left! Anyways, a lot of people have been upset lately because of weird hours...being closed on a Saturday at 8:00 for example with no explanation. No need to get into the food which had been pretty strong, but slowly got worse and worse. Lately the bartenders have been too busy flirting with customers, not to mention way too loud. This place really could have benefited from Restaurant Impossible, because it really became just that typical NY establishment with a bunch of lazy people that treated it as a hangout instead of a place of work. Well, no need to worry, the place auctioned off all it's equipment today so I guess that means they will be closing.

Love love love this place. Taco Tuesday is amazing but we usually go other days to avoid the crowds. The tacos are superb but my favorite is the fish entree with rice and beans. It’s made in a lemon sauce. And it’s great. The staff is extremely friendly and the food doesn’t take long. I recommend this place and you won’t be disappointed with anything on their menu. Enjoy !
